1-800 Flowers saves the table

I'm a novice gardener...as green as the grasshopper in this pumpkin blossom I captured in my garden in September. The pumpkin vines grew long and magnificent, often made me wonder what sort of harvest would come forth from such a promising entity. To my disappointment, no pumpkins this season, but a good learning experience.

Perhaps the weather conditions were not ideal, or yard visitors helped themselves to the very tiny pumpkins that began to take shape. My hopes of a table centerpiece were dashed by the lack of garden abundance.

For my Halloween dinner party, I found a wonderful arrangement of flowers online, that just brought the beauty of autumn and the colors I've enjoyed in my garden to my dining room table. Among my guests this Saturday is the wife of one of my friends who is an interior designer, and I KNOW she'll be impressed with the arrangement.

Serendipitously, my mom's birthday is in two weeks, so a lovely bouquet of her favorite yellow roses are on their way to Florida.

And I didn't have to plant a seed or nurture a vine!
